We recommend this package for people who would like the opportunity to study Spanish while staying with a family in the centre of Antigua. Steeped in history, culture and delicious cuisine, Antigua is a UNESCO world heritage city, with colonial cobbled streets, 17th and 18th century architecture and breathtaking volcano views. Antigua is regarded as the best recognised centre in the world to learn Spanish attracting students from Europe, North America and Asia. All our qualified Spanish teachers offer one to one teaching and teach all levels from beginners through to advanced.
This package offers a unique opportunity for Spanish students to practice their conversational skills with their host family during meal times, with the advantage of not being surrounded by westerners -‐ which is common in the large Spanish schools in Antigua.
Whilst the accommodation is basic, the hospitality of the local families, all personally chosen by us, will make you feel at home. All accommodation is located in the centre of Antigua, close to cafes, restaurants and the ancient ruins of Antigua city. We cater for independent travellers, couples and families. All rooms are private. A key will be provided so you have the freedom to come and go as you please. Breakfast and dinner is provided from Monday to Friday. Meals are typical Guatemalan dishes. Vegetarian and vegan meals are available on request.
This trip also incorporates the opportunity to volunteer in a school for a day where you can help contribute towards breaking the cycle of poverty in Guatemala, through education.
