This itinerary is designed for people that want an intense experience with nature and are in good physical shape. If you like the outdoors and adventures then this advanced survivor package is for you. It will be a unique experience! The itinerary includes the famous Mayan site of Tikal and the mysterious ruins of “El Zotz”. You will walk a total of about 60km (38 miles) through tropical rainforest and you will camp out in hammocks under the open sky. If you would like to discover other attractions of Guatemala, we can easily add on tours to other highlights of Guatemala.

Day 1: Flores – El Zotz...
Starting in Flores, we will drive about an hour to meet our guides. From here our adventure starts with a first walk of about 20km (12.5 miles). At noon, we will have a delicious box lunch in the tropical forest. Upon arriving in El Zotz around 16:00pm, we will set up the camping equipment. Later we’ll prepare dinner and eat, before getting ready for a well-deserved rest. L, D

Day 2: El Zotz – El Yesal...
Early in the morning around 6:00am we will observe the return of the bats to their caves, which is an impressive spectacle. Then we will have breakfast and further explore the Mayan site of El Zotz, the local pyramid of the Devil and the flora and fauna surrounding us. After lunch in El Zotz we continue our walk towards the site of El Yesal (approximately 20km, 12.5 miles). This area is famous for its alabaster outcrops followed by setting up the camping equipment and dinner. B, L, D

Day 3: El Yesal – Tikal – Flores...
After breakfast we will initiate the last walk of the journey, the walk towards the most famous Mayan ruins in Tikal (another 20km, 12.5 miles). Upon arriving at Tikal, we will have lunch in one of the restaurants and afterwards enjoy a guided tour of Tikal that will last about 4 hours. In the late afternoon, we will return to Flores and your hotel of choice. B, L

Day 4: Flores – Guatemala City...
After breakfast we will take you back to the airport of Flores for a short flight back to Guatemala City. B

This package includes: Air ticket Guatemala City to Flores roundtrip, 1 hotel night, 2 camping nights in hammocks incl. mosquito nets, entrance fees, guides, 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinner, purified water, horse or mule to carry your luggage, land transport, use of camping equipment.
It is recommended to bring: Small backpack with a second set of close, small towel, soap and items for personal hygiene, long light pants, long sleeve shirt, rain coat, hat, flashlight, bug repellent, binoculars, camera, good shoes, sandals, pocket knife and personal articles and medicines where needed.
The price does not include: Drinks and meals where not indicated, gratuities, personal expenses and the tax of $3 at the Flores airport .
