Day 1: Arrival in Guatemala, Overnight in Antigua...

Upon arrival at the International Airport of Guatemala City, one of our drivers will wait for you at the exit of the airport to transfer you to your hotel in Antigua. Meet and greet your guide in Antigua. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Antigua.

Day 2: Antigua...
Enjoy breakfast, then your guide will meet you for a city tour of Antigua. Enormous churches monasteries and colonial mansions from the 17/18th century line the city's cobblestone streets. UNESCO declared Antigua patrimony to mankind. The guided tour also includes a visit to the music museum and the textile village. Lunch at a local restaurant in the heart of Antigua. After lunch you stop at Casa Popenoe, a mansion of ancient times. Rest of the afternoon at your leisure or walk the streets and visit the markets in search of handmade cloths, weavings and crafts. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Antigua. B, L

Day 3: Chichicastenango, Lake Atitlan...
Morning drive into the Altiplano (highlands) of Chichicastenango, home to one of the most spectacular markets in the Americas. Visit the largest traje (indigenous clothing) and tipica (crafts) market in Central America and Santo Tomas Church, built in 1540. Here Indians practice their faith, blending Mayan and Catholic rituals. After lunch you will transfer to Panajachel on Lake Atitlan where you will have the rest of the afternoon and the evening at leisure. Overnight in Panajachel, 5000 feet above sea level! B

Day 4: Lake Atitlan, Excursion to Santiago...
Today you will have an excursion by boat to Santiago, a typical Mayan village. Crossing Lake Atitlan you will see the three volcanoes San Pedro, Toliman and Atitlan that are dominating the landscape. Santiago is known for the quality and beauty of its textile products. In the afternoon, you will return to Panajachel, where you will have time to explore this gateway to Lake Atitlan. Choose among many local restaurants and enjoy dinner on your own! B, L

Day 5: Iximche, Guatemala City...
After breakfast your journey continues to Guatemala City. On the way you will visit the post-classic Maya site of Iximche. These ruins are situated in a beautiful forest and also served as the first capital of Guatemala from 1524 to 1527. At Iximche you will be able to appreciate the pyramids, the ball courts where they played their games and the plazas of this city that played a very important part in it's time. You will also have the chance to visit a small museum. Overnight in Guatemala City. B

Day 6: Tikal Excursion, Petexbatun...
Today you will you will take an early morning flight into the heart of the Guatemalan jungle hosting the Maya monuments and the pyramids of Tikal. In this remote area, one of the greatest civilizations of its time built a city that lasted for centuries. The site of Tikal is in a National Park where the native flora and fauna still flourish relatively undisturbed. You might also spot many different birds, monkeys, coaties and many other animals of the rainforest. After lunch you will head to Sayaxche to take a boat transfer to Petexbatun, a picturesque jungle lodge with many amenities. Overnight at Petexbatun Lodge. B, L, D

Day 7: Aguateca, Guatemala City...
This morning you will take a boat and head for a visit of the Mayan site of Aguateca. Also in the middle of the jungle, Aguateca was one of the last sites occupied by the Mayas. The history of Aguateca is just about beginning to be explored by archaeologists and is an incredible place! After lunch you will transfer to the airport of Flores and take a short flight back to Guatemala City. Overnight in Guatemala City. B, L

Day 8: Guatemala, Pacific Coast...
After a short city tour of Guatemala City you will start your way to Monterico, from the Highlands down to the Pacific Coast. This coastal region boasts a much different landscape compared to what you have seen in the days before. Overnight at the oceanfront Hotel Utz-Tzaba. B, D

Day 9: Beach, Free Day...
Today you will enjoy the beach of Monterico with its volcanic sands and the warm and pleasant waters of the Pacific Ocean along with the installations of the hotel. B, L, D .

Day 10: Turtle and Reptile Reserve, Guatemala City...
After breakfast you will visit a biotop from the National University that serves as a breeding ground for turtles, iguanas, and crocodiles. Followed by lunch you will transfer back to your hotel in Guatemala City. Overnight Guatemala City. B, L

Day 11: Departure Guatemala City ...
Your tour ends this morning at your hotel in Guatemala. EnjoyGuatemala provides transfers throughout the day to the Guatemala City airport. Thanks for vacationing with EnjoyGuatemala. ¡Hasta luego! B
